Carriage Driving Clinic

We are delighted to have Andy Marcoux present a carriage driving clinic for Vermont Morgan.  Andy Marcoux has been training and driving horses of all breeds for more than 10 years.  He received a degree in Equine Industries from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts.  Since that time Andy has held positions as coachman and trainer throughout the United States. 

His competitive experience includes combined driving singles and pairs through advanced level.  In pleasure driving shows he has competed with singles, pairs, tandem and four-in-hands.

Andy’s training principles are based on the fundamentals of dressage, with safety and longevity in mind.  The experience that clinic hosts remark on the most is Andy’s ability to meet a student directly at their level of skill from the very novice to the very advanced.  One motto is “if we are not having fun, we are probably doing something wrong.”

The Clinic Format

The clinic will consist of small groups, with skill levels appropriately matched.  We will focus on ring work and have a “practice show” in the morning, followed by lunch and by afternoon sessions with cones and obstacles, according to participants’ needs.

Stabling will be available for $25.  Camping is permitted; no hook-ups.

Clinic cost:  $ 90.00 including lunch
