Daitengu "Red Tengu Mask" Tokubetsu Junmai Sake (BTL 600ml)

The Great Tengu is a powerful yokai (spirit) with many powers at their disposal. Tengu are at times depicted in folklore adversaries to humans, other times wise sage-like protectors of wild places and teachers to those seeking knowledge. The longer the nose, the more powerful the Tengu. This sake is grassy and full of umami with a long, banana-yogurt finish that leaves you thirsting for more. As a child, Toji Saori Kobari was inspired to keep the family brewery running by watching festival-goers in her town drink Daitengu sake. She is the brewery’s fifth generation toji and uses traditional methods such as funashibori (vat press) and brews in small lots.
