The Watts Brass Residential Dual Check Valve Backflow Preventer is designed to prevent the reverse flow of hot or cold polluted water from entering into the potable water supply in smaller supply lines. Capable of being used under continuous pressure, this preventer is particularly suited for use with laboratory equipment, processing tanks, sterilizers, dairy equipment, and similar applications.It is constructed with a highly durable forged brass body with a broad operating temperature range of 33° F (0.5° C) to 250° F (121° C). It can handle a minimum required pressure of 25 psi (1.7 bar) and a maximum pressure of 175 psi (12.1 bar).Equipped with NPT female inlet and outlet connections that contribute to a tight, leak-free seal, the installation of this 3/4" backflow preventer is straightforward and secure and includes everything you need to efficiently prevent the backflow of water in your smaller supply line, such as stainless steel internal working parts, an integral strainer, and rubber discs. Furthermore, it includes two durable, tight-seating rubber check valves: a primary check valve utilizing a rubber disc seating against a mating rubber part to ensure tight closing, as well as a secondary check valve utilizing a rubber disc-to-metal seating.The compact design of this preventer makes it adaptable to a variety of setups and ensures that it can be easily handled during installation and maintenance. It can be also be installed in either a vertical or horizontal orientation.
